Launch identity

This is the account in which the OPC Classic server will run.

The OPC Classic server can be configured to run as a background process with the OPC Classic server starting and stopping as OPC Classic clients connect and disconnect. The OPC Classic server must be given a user identity under which to run, i.e. an administrator account, the current interactive user, or a special account setup for the OPC Classic server.

When the OPC Classic server is running as a Window's Service, the launch identity is configured on the Log on tab of the service properties. This is the more common configuration.

The launch identity for the OPC Classic server is specified using customized DCOMCNFG settings found on the Identity tab.
